Alex and 'Auli'i met at the University of Hawai'i. Alex was in his last semester of college pursuing his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering and 'Auli'i in her second pursuing an undergraduate degree in HR and International Business. Both participated in greek life and 'Auli'i worked part time as a Zumba instructor which ultimately led to their meeting.

Alex and 'Auli'i both volunteered at the annual Relay for Life charity event through their respective fraternities. It was at this event that Alex first noticed 'Auli'i volunteering as a Zumba instructor in the early hours of the morning. Immediately after the Zumba lesson had completed, Alex attempted to make conversation with 'Auli'i who initially brushed him off and to this day does not remember the attempt.

It was not until the following semester at a mutual friend's birthday party that they had their first full conversation.

For the next six years, Alex and 'Auli'i maintained a long distance relationship. Alex worked in Los Angeles and 'Auli'i worked on completing an Undergraduate Degree and later pursued and completed a Masters Degree at the University of Hawaii.

During these six years, Alex and 'Auli'i traveled often with friends and family to some of their favorite destinations including: Hawaii, Breckenridge, Las Vegas, Park City, Joshua Tree, Yosemite, and many others.

On December 22, 2023, Alex proposed at sunrise on the shores of Waimea Bay.

In February 2024, Alex and ‘Auli’i bought their first house in Los Angeles, CA. There, they anxiously plan for April 26, 2025 to celebrate their marriage with all of you!
